Carbon Steel Seamless Pipe Specification
Carbon steel seamless pipes are available in a wide range of sizes of about 1/2” NB to 36” NB. They are manufactured in many standards, typical carbon steel pipe material grades in API 5L Grade B, X42 to X70, ASTM A106 B, ASTM A53 B, ASTM A252 Grade 3 and ASTM A333 Grade 6 etc.
The design of carbon steel seamless pipes ranges as per the level of thickness. The range starts from SCH 40, SCH 80, SCH 160, or so on. Carbon steel seamless pipe is the most common use piping material in different industries served for construction, structural, liquid transmissions for water, oil and gas.
Carbon Steel Seamless Pipe Price
Because the production process of seamless pipe is quite complex (more complex than that of ERW and LSAW pipes), and because the number of carbon steel seamless pipe manufacturers is quite limited (the market is monopolistic), the price per ton of carbon steel seamless pipes is higher than that of ERW pipes, usually 20-30% higher.
